CV Joint/ Differential Play normal?

I've been chasing some noise coming from underneath my truck. Some groaning rotational noises at all speeds. These noises started after some spirited off-roading a couple weeks ago. Found the rear U joint with a little play and replaced it. Definitely helped. Still seems a little noisy under there. Is this normal? This video is the inner part of the CV where it enters the front dif.

Hey John, I just went out to my truck and checked out mine. I have play too but yours seems to be 1.5-2 times more play than I'm showing. But, maybe you're pulling back and forth harder than I was. I was recently reading up on replacing CV axles and I know there's a clip on the end of the shaft that goes into the differential. Maybe that clip is damaged or all the way broken allowing for the excessive movement.

I know there might be a little in and out movement but I have up and down movement, like it's floating inside the dif. It's not a lot it can't be right but Im just not sure

Mine also has some up and down movement, but like I said, it's more than I'm seeing with mine.

Hey, does your drivers side cv axle have any in and out plat from the diff? Mine has about 1/8th inch and idk if something is wrong or Thats normal. Could you post of video of what urs looks like. Thanks!
