CVs/Rear Axle Bearing Diagnosis

After putting on new tires, I ran my truck (2008, V6 4WD) by Toyota for an alignment. As part of the suspension inspection, they ID'd both front CV boots torn along with a bad right real axle bearing.

Obviously, I need to do the bearing ASAP, correct? What's the downside to waiting? Does the diff fluid need to be changed as part of the repair?

Secondly, any downside to waiting on the CVs? My plan is the replace both entire units as I have time. Same with servicing the diffs/transfer case assuming I can get the plugs out OK.

Any thoughts are appreciated, it's a hefty repair bill to tackle all at once, even going with an independent Toyota mechanic. Thanks

I wonder how they checked the rear bearing? Does anybody know how OP would double check it?

Post pics of you CVs, they may need replaced or they might not, the shop could be BSing you. Usually they start clicking before they fail.

On the rear bearing, it was slinging grease and was pretty obviously coming from the axle. The question was whether it was just a bad seal or the bearing itself but the recommendation was replacing both once you tear into it.

And yeah, the driver's side CV is clicking so I'm guessing a simple reboot isn't an option there. The passenger side is much more recent, so probably salvageable.
