I think it's time to finally start my build thread! After driving my 3rd gen around for a few months, I really wanted a new one. Purchased my 5th gen in August of 2016 and ended up with this trail edition premium without kdss.

After a month of ownership, I had some vinyl work done on the fenders and trim, installed a cheap leveling kit with diff drop (3" front and 2" rear lift) and traded the stock tires in for some BFG K02's in 285/70

Build Progress Continued

Not long after my trip to Logandale, NV on the stock TE wheels, I ended up going through a local Toyota dealership to place an order for a set of FN TRD pro rep wheels but these came in almost the exact same day the TRD reps came in and I had a change of heart. Ended up with these FN Overland Spec B wheels.

Fender trim

I also have a 15 TEP, mine is white and I want to do what you did to your fender flares and front and rear grey trim. My question is did you have the pieces painted or dipped or what?

I had the flares and trim professionally vinyl wrapped. It's held up great so far. Some parts that aren't very visible are peeling but I plan on spraying those areas with plastidip

C4 Front Bumper

A couple of months ago I was approached via social media to be a brand ambassador for C4fabrication and the timing couldn't have been any better! I had just sold my third gen 4Runner and was in the market for rock sliders and front bumper. C4 has been an excellent company to work with and after a few weeks, I received their 5th gen rock sliders and low profile bumper. I opted for the Bajadesigns 30" amber light bar and smitty built xrc 9.5 winch. I had everything powerdercoated textured black from a local shop. Everything was installed in one day with the help of some friends. Everything went on without a hitch and I feel like the most difficult part was finding a spot to put the winch control box. So far, I'm very impressed with my purchase!

I got an awesome Oztent RV-2 for Christmas this year from the misses so no roof top tent for this build. Now I want to focus on upgrading to a legitimate suspension. I had my heart set on the Toytec boss kit but after doing some research, I'm leaning towards Bilstein 6112's in the front with 1/2" spacers and boss shocks and springs in the rear. For now, its time to hit some trails! Snow pics on the next update!
