DAE Denim's 2000 Sport

Started the classic Satoshi Grill Mod.

I found a 98 grill for a great price and just picked up my mesh today. I wanted to have it match the hood scoop look so I hope when it's all done it does.

So far I've cut out the middle, sanded down the edges a bit and now I'm ready to fill the holes. I haven't decided which product to use yet. I'll probably cut the metal to size tomorrow.

Getting closer. Finished filling and painting the grill and decided to paint the rear wing too since I had the black trim paint out. Looks 100x better than the old faded black one. Next will be the rear door latch and rear bumper step once I get more time.

I used a combo of J-B Weld 50139 Plastic Bonder Body Panel Adhesive and Gap Filler but it was kind of runny so that filled the main gaps and then I got some bondo glaze for the final fill.

I just really sanded the chrome down and used many costs of self etching primer. Hopefully it holds. I'm currently gooping the aluminum to the grill. Hopefully I'll have it on the truck tomorrow.

still looking for a toyota emblem. Not sure which one to get yet. Also not sure if my "perfect match" paint is really perfectly matched but I can live with it.
 
so I did some painting and finally finished the grill mod.

Took the whole rack down, cleaned it, painted it and then after a night re-installed it. Looks tons better since most of the paint had flaked off years ago.

So I finally got my truck a little lift.



Sitting right about 2". I think it's just right. Not too tall but tall enough.

OME 880's in the front, 906's in the back and 5100's all around.

BEFORE stock around 21" from well to center hub.


AFTER around 23" from well to center hub.

Looking great! I’m running the same setup as you are, just with 4600’s. How did you remove the license plate bezel? Did you have to go in and move the rear window motor all around? I’m looking at replacing mine with a color matched one I pulled off of an ‘02 sport.

thanks, you have to pull the whole back off the hatch and unbolt it from within. A little tough to do but doable. I'll probably take mine off one more time and redue the weather strip piece that goes around it.
 
Picked up a new thule Force Large for the truck. We're going on an across the country trip soon and I figured that would be the best option to haul extra gear. So easy to install. It's a really nice cargo carrier.

New Lower Ball Joints (just because)
New front pads and rotors
replaced the axle seals
and it's first synthetic fill up.

Cross Country Road Trip.

Well I lifted my truck just for this trip so it can handle the extra weight, I also did the LBJ to be safe and replaced front brakes.

Big trouble in New Mexico as 3rd gen V6's don't get as good of gas milage as I thought. I was at 1/4 tank and out there stations are 100 miles apart. My gas light came on and I wasn't sure I'd make it or not. I found an Indian Gift/gas station just in time. It even had trouble starting because it was so low.



More Arizona/New Mexico.






Snow Topped Mountains


Texas Windmills, they go on for miles and miles and miles. I was also blown all over the road with the carrier on top.
