Daily Driver Weekend Warrior, Whats the best tires in your opinion?

wondering what your favorite daily driving tire while being able to wheel on the weekends?

I love my GY duratracs, they are an aggressive tire that handles well in both snow and dirt. I found them to be very quite for an AT/MT and didn't see much of a drop in MPG.

I'm rolling on 33" Cooper AT3's. Deep tread. 90-95% on road miles. Never let me down on some soupy, muddy days.

I'm very happy with my Falken wild peaks. Very quiet, nice ride, good wearing, and perform pretty good off road.

I have Wrangler Authorities (Walmart Exclusive) which are really cheap but have a pretty aggressive tread that's pretty deep with siping. They are pretty undersized though which is the only downside so far, really nice otherwise.

Have almost identical tires on my 4runner now (GY Silent Armors, now discontinued). Ran them on my Tacoma for almost 10k miles and loved them but one got a sidewall slit on a trail. They became my backup tires, got a single one right as they announced that they'd be discontinued and threw em on 4r. I honestly love the tire and it was priced better than the Duratrac, but I do think the duratrac looks a hair better.

Anyway, I now run the Hankook Dynapro AT-m on the Tacoma and they'll soon be swapped to 4runner when I trade taco in. They're wonderful even in load range E, quiet and perform well on and off road, snow, rain, dry, etc. Price is great, even better if you get P rated. Why LR e on a 4banger taco? Well, I hope to never have sidewall damage again Look em up, the reviews on the web and tacomaworld combined with great price make em a win in my book.

x2. KM2s are the chit. I don't believe there's a tire out there that wheels as hard but is as quiet on the road.

I just put Duratracs on the '99 and they've been great so far as well, but I don't know that I'll ever wheel them hard - too many stories of weak sidewalls.

I agree with the BFG suggestions. But I doubt you are looking for Mud Terrains if you do mostly highway driving.
I have BFG All Terrains in 265s Great tire and quiet on the road. With the aggressive A/T tread on these tires its perfect for the weekend trip while still being functional for day to day on the highway. I doubt you will find an A/T tire that will last as long as these will. They just don't wear.

I thought my BFG ATs were a great, but now they only make them in Load Range E, which is too stiff and heavy for a 4Runner. Now I'm running load range C Cooper S/Ts, which I like but I did take a hit in the mileage department (although I did go up in rim and tire size) and they are noisier than the BFGs. If I were faced with buying tires today I would probably be deciding between the Cooper STs I have now and the Bridgestone Dueler ATs that treated me so well in the past.

I run General Grabber AT2's and they are great all round tires for on-road, off-road, and winter driving. I am considering the Duratracs for my next ones though. Either are a good choice for your balance of driving. If your weekend warrioring takes you through lots of mud, I would suggest the Duratracs though.

I swear by bfg AT Ta KO's they last long and are great for all conditions on road and great for sand, dirt, and soupy mud. The tread wear is excellent. My last pair of Bfg's lasted 75k balanced and rotated every 3000 miles. The only downfall is they don't clear well in thick mud. But all around id recommend them as a good all terrain. They also have a 3 ply sidewall so they are extremely durable. But....... they are on the fairly expensive side of 900$+ for a set easy.
