dash board a/c display/controls

I have a 1999 4runner limited 2.5 l auto w/air cond. The problem is the read out for the a/c control settings is displayed in black letters/symbols on dark gray background and can't see that's displayed without a flashlight, even in daylight. The radio display is also black letters/numbers but is back lit yellow so I can read it clearly, day or night. So, I wonder if the a/c display has a burned out light behind the display window? Has anyone else had this problem?

Yep, been there done that, got the t-shirt. My radio back light was blown too so I had to replace my radio. Check the link out for the LED sizes. There's 2 for the Climate control buttons and 2 for the display backlight. You can change the colors if you want or just go with the green. Get the high powered ones. I went to www.superbrightleds.com If you need exact part #'s I'll look up my old invoice.
