Dash Board HVAC servo noise

so i have that clicking/gurgling sound coming for the HVAC servo in the dash, there are 2 of these in the dash a lower and upper one has anyone fixed this without tearing the whole dash apart? seems very difficult to access

I'm pretty sure I have the same sound/issue with mine also. It's not all the time, just every now and then, but still concerns me when it does it.

The only thing I can contribute is that when you do get access to the HVAC blend door/etc, apparently you can repair it (by cleaning some contacts/lubbing it/ or just outright replacing it). I'd replace it so you NEVER have to deal with it again.

Lexus RX (1st gen) suffered from this (clicking noise coming from inside the dash)

Your 4Runner is probably doing the same thing. From what I understand, the servo (IF that's the culprit) isn't terribly expensive (~$130-150).

My dad's former Rx had this, I almost tackled the project, but it was traded in before I got my hands on it.

I've got this too. I haven't heard the gurgling sound yet. But I do have the clicking noise. I sometimes hear a little squeek but I have not had a chance to investigate where the sound is coming from. I thought I had seen a post somewhere where a guy had "fixed" his for like 5 bux ? Ring a bell with anyone.

you can fix it by cleaning the contacts, the issues is getting to it

you can access the servo by removing the upper compartment of the glove box
