So my dash clock doesn't work. So I checked out the clock fix thread and saw that it's an easy fix. Pulled off the dash where the clock is and noticed the clock wasn't plugged in. Well I started looking for the plug and its nowhere to be found. I've follows the harness back as far as I can see and there is no extra plugs or wires. WTF? Any input would be appreciated.

In the back of your dash has an blank plug. Most likely the clock wires is plugged into the blank plug.

Yup. When I put my stereo in I plugged the clock plug into the blank thinking ir supplied the rear window switch. After a little reading I popped it back apart anx moved the plug. All is good now

behind this panel there should be these 4 clips. but on the panel there are 5 plugs to plug one of those clips into, if you plug it in that 5th one your clock wont work.
so take the cover off and make sure that there are pins (actual connection) that that plug will connect to.

Hi, first post everyone and it's about the clock. I have a 1997 4runner, opened up the center console and upon inspection of the harness and clock found there is no harness. Previous owner spliced the wires, stripped the metal contacts from the 4 pin connector and attempted to solder directly to the pins...
Anyone have any idea what the part number is for a wire harness / 4 pin connector? Anyone have an extra one?
My plan is to buy a used clock of ebay and resolder the pin connector to the wire harness to replicate closely what was original.

Have you thought about visiting a junk yard with a pair of wire cutters? Find one with the same dash design as you have, cut the plug off with plenty of extra wire, and voila!
That's what I would do anyway. Plus you can get all those other things that break over time like vents, trim pieces, knobs, etc.
