Id go with a double din. Thats my opinion. I hve the jbl synthesis in my 03 sport and it doesnt have te aux or usb port. Which is the main reason im putting an aftermarket sound system in it.

a pic of radio will help, some here had jbl and it was the standard radio opening. not the newer jbl radios.

For single din use metra 99-8210
For double din use metra 95-8210

I had the same stock stereo and used the bestkit. It still requires an extensive amount to trimming. I am living with mine, but not thrilled with it. They clearly did not fully assemble one after creating the kit.

Can you buy the trim or get it from some where off the 4Runners with oem nav? Aren't they double din?
