Dash light troubleshooting

I tried searching and sifting through posts with no luck. Wondering if anyone could offer some insight or troubleshooting steps for an issue I'm having with my 01.

Upon startup the dash light for the battery comes on. Then the airbag light. Then once I start moving the vsc trac, vsc off, ebrake light come on. While driving the airbag, battery and ebrake light will intermittently shut off then come back on.

There are no adverse running problems that I can tell. There is no Check engine light.

Right before this started I.... ..

worked in the engine bay near the front diff and transfer case breathers, degreasing and rinsing off with the hose. I also sprayed degreaser and hose water I'm the front driver side wheel well, as oil/grease had migrated down there from the breathers.

Added some gas to the tank from my 5 gallon gas can. I did not use a funnel, but I didn't spill any, and the gas cap is seated

Pulled the front rotors to resurface them, the reinstalled.




I've cleaned my battery terminals and given the 6 month old battery a charge. 12.6 while off and 14.3 while running.

I checked every electrical connection and sensor I could find, all were clean and dry. Wondering what next steps I should take....

sounds like you got water in a few of the electrical plugs. check them plugs, dry it and dab some dielectric grease in them.

I unplugged everything I could see and sprayed them with electronics cleaner.

Verify your engine ground by diagnostic plug (aka sensor ground) is clean and tight. Likewise fender ground by battery.

Weird sh!t is usually grounds...or low voltage/battery connections.

Quirky lights like that usually point me to alternator. Maybe go have the alternator tested. Or I'd just let the truck sit with the hood open and let everything dry for a day or two.

So I heeded your advice and redid the grounds for some led lights I installed a few weeks ago, and that seems to of fixed it. I had them grounded in a unused bolt hole near the battery fender ground. Dash lights went off and haven't come back on this am/pm commute. Appreciate the input. [emoji1360]
