Dash lights on

I have the “abs” and what looks like the traction control light on in my dash. They’ve been going on and off for a few weeks….. honestly I have driven the 4Runner much in a while…… I’ll post a picture also
Anyone have any ideas ??

I hope this isn’t expensive

my bet is a wheel speed sensor issue from wiring that was chewed or simply started failing due to age and eventually gave out

a wheel speed sensor/wiring is not too big of an expense. I had to replace a wheel sensor in my 2010 RX and it only cost a couple hundred $ parts,labour at a lexus dealer

I’m also getting responses from other forums about a brake light switch that could be a culprit…….
Guess I’ll get under the truck and look behind each wheel…

The P1604 looks like it came up because of my shitty autozone battery died after less than 3 years (the truck did sit in the garage without starting for about 1 month) …… I put in another battery that shitty autozone replaced under warranty….. it’s running / starting well….. I guess I can clear that P1604 code with my OBD2 scanner/reader……
But the other codes C1422, 25 , and P0504 point to a faulty stop light switch…..

The P1604 looks like it came up because of my shitty autozone battery died after less than 3 years (the truck did sit in the garage without starting for about 1 month) …… I put in another battery that shitty autozone replaced under warranty….. it’s running / starting well….. I guess I can clear that P1604 code with my OBD2 scanner/reader……

ah P0504 seems to indicate that switch as well. do you have any issues putting the vehicle from P to N/D when foot on the brake? Also do your brake lights work when you press on the brake pedal when the dash is lit up? either way, the part is inexpensive and DIY friendly (lots on youtube to reference). the part is : Stoplamp Switch - Toyota (84340-09310) and is ~$40. unless you have a more detailed scan tool for testing or want to bench test the switch, you could just replace the switch and it might solve your problem

The brake lights do work and I don’t have a problem with shifting out of park.
My scan tool keeps repeating the brake light switch code P0504 C1422 and C1425
So I purchased one from Amazon (it had high reviews) for $10…..
I’ll install it tomorrow or over the weekend

And if it’s the wheel speed sensor, they’re not too expensive—— only question are
There 4 of them or only 2 at the front —- I’m only asking since I crawled quickly under the truck and only could see the front 2

there are 4. check on the rear axle housing or near the rear rotors
