Dash Warning Lights On

Check Engine, VSC and VSC OFF lights are on my 2004 Sport. Lit up after rear end accident and shop body and tailpipe repair. WTF? What can cause that? I talked to body shop and they willing to fix it if it is result of accident or shop repair. Taking it in to get diagnosed at local Toyota. Any ideas?

Emissions related -- ie- a sensor in the exhaust (or elsewhere that was damaged from the jar in the accident)? I know that can cause the VSC and trac lights and put the 4R in 'limp' mode, but I'm not sure about the CEL.

Gas cap is good. Can it be evap system because it is located back there? If so may I blame it on accident?

Take it to a parts store and have them pull the codes for you. That way you'll know exactly what's wrong with it before you take it to Toyota and can confirm your theory or formulate a story that makes sense.

Your CEL is your vehicle trying to tell you what's wrong with it. No need to really guess what's wrong with it because your vehicle already knows.

1201 = engine control system mgmt, and 41, 46, and 55 are related to emissions (probably the impact -- maybe an O2?). Check your fuses, and the gas cap as an easy fix opportunity. 1340 is an open or short in the center diff circuit, from what I'm reading.

Check the around the evaporator canister by the spare tire area. Codes look like a leak and a wiring problem to the valve. Look for shorts to ground. Leak may be caused by the valve that is open due to the short to ground to the valve. Definitely could be related to a rear end accident.

Found it, smoke test at Toyota showed leaky charcoal cannister. Had it replaced and no issues now. Thank you all for great input.
