Dashboard is lit like a Christmas Tree (Maint, VSC Off, VSC Trac, Slip)

A week or so ago my 06 T4R Sport with 55,055 miles dashboard had the Maint, VSC Off, VSC Trac, and the Slippage lights all illuminated after a start up. All the lights were not illuminated when the truck was turned off, then about 2 hours later, when I went to get back in they all came on when started, it was a cold late night engine start, dont know if that important or not. I think it may have something to do with my 4wheel drive function. I was in 4Hi when the truck was shut off, as it was snowing outside, and when I turned the truck on the lights came on for the first time. It drives fine as far as I can tell, just the lights are on, but the ABS lights are not illuminated, as I have read that sometimes that light comes on. I tried the gas cap removal/ re-tighten, and they went off for the drive, but came on when restarted. I also tried the manual reset on the OSB-II with speaker wire, and the VSC Trac, VSC Off, and Slip light all went off, while the Maint light stayed on, and that lasted a few hours until they all came back on. What the hell is causing this? is it going to be expensive? and is it safe to drive? Please help. Thanks.

Take off one of the post of your battery. Wait 5 minutes and put it back on. See what happens.

I had that problem too one day (2008 V8 4Runner). It was 40 below. I did the gas cap trick. At first, it did not work, but a few starts later (about 5 starts, and 1 day later) it did go back to normal. Just my experience.

I had the same lights come on last summer. All mine came on just as you described (except the check engine light).

The Runner drove fine and braked fine and the lights would just randomly come on......many times at start up and many times after I was already driving for a while, so no rhyme or reason.

I took it to the dealer and they downloaded the codes which indicated a bad brake light switch so it was no big deal to fix and not expensive at all, like $30 I think. The lights stayed off for a while......like a week or so and then started coming back on.....so back to the dealer.... WTF?? they downloaded the codes and said there was an electrical short and the brake booster and master cylinder had to be replaced to the tune of $2,300. I had around 48K miles on the truck at this point, and thankfully I purchased the Platinum extended warranty when I bought the truck, so I paid $0 out of pocket and they gave me a Prius to drive for a few days also at no cost to me.

The service advisor dude said he had never seen this before.

The lights have not come back on since then.
