Daystar 1" budget boost

Just got off the phone with Daystar and was told that in order to install the 1" budget boost(on XREAS) I would have to disassemble the strut assembly. I though this wasn't the case. He said with the 2.5 up front you don't due to the stud extensions but the 1" will require disassembly to install the longer studs.

Anyone have the same experience? Anyone install the 1" without strut disassembly?

Nope, when I put mine it, it required disassembly. It's not hard though, you DON'T have to disconnect the XREAS though, just be careful with it. Good luck!

Thanks Husker. So it does require disassembly and a spring compressor? Did you end with 2" lift up front?

Got any additional pics of yours after leveled. I'm concerened about sagging look in the rear. Have you towed at all or had a full load and had a nose high situation?

I thought they had changed to an "easy install" kit with extensions, guess not on the budget boost though. Also, expect close to two inches of lift from the budget boost, the Daystar reps typically have no clue what they're taking about on the 4runners. They claim one inch but trust me, you'll get more than that.

Yes, it does require the spring compressor, you have to compress the springs in order to get the spacer and the new bolts in. It's pretty simple though and there are some directions on here somewhere that will help you out too. I bought a pair of spring compressors at Harbor Freight for $9 too.

I haven't towed anything with it yet, but I think it sits almost perfectly level. My only complaint is that my tires look terrible now, I need an upgrade, bad! But, that has nothing to do with the lift itself.

Personally, I was opting to the budget boost first. You should just go with the 2.5/1/5 lift instead. For the $$$; you're better off. You will need it later after you add the 33's
