Daystar 2.5/1.5 sux

What would happen if the XREAS system was taken apart and reinstalled back on my truck and if the mechanic didnt replace the fluid that was lost? Would my ride be bouncier and would the shocks make a clanking sound when going over bumps at low speeds?

Yes, The problem is that the fluid in not replaceable, you now need an entire new xreas system.

So when the dealership told me that they have a primer kit to re-prime the XREAS when they have to take them apart is a lie huh?

I think from what most of us know, yes. The system only disconnects at 4 specific points to service the suspension without ruining the system. The disconnects are like schrader valves like those of an air stem. Wrong part disconnected, system is shot. New setup is delivered with fluid in it.

Have them get more familiar with the factory service and repair manual before they touch your vehicle anymore, or find another dealer.

**UPDATE**

I went to the stealership today and had them take another look at my issue. Amazingly they will not tell me what they think the problem is, what they did say was that they have a call into S.E. Toyota and awaiting a return call. I went in this morning and told them what the mechanic said and what I was advised by you all here at T4R.org...basically I said that the mechanic had depleted the fluids in the XREAS and to my understanding the system had to be replaced. Since they wont tell me what they think the problem is, I believe that they are coming to the belief that they have screwed up and trying to figure out how to get out of it. :happens: I will keep you all updated. Thank you all again for your help!:wink2:

**UPDATE**

Got a phone call from the stealership this morning...a new XREAS system has been ordered and will be here in a day or 2 :guitar3: . He said "we are going to absorb the cost for these parts but not sure if you are going to be responsible for any part of the labor expense"...Smoke another one jackass...I am not responsible for any part of labor on parts that they have to replace because they screwed up..or am I wrong on that?

correct, you are in no way responsible for their mistakes, and should, in turn, pay no additional labor fees for their tech's mistake. if they want to pay the tech for his screw-up, it needs to come out of their pocket, not your's.

I would try to get a free alignment out of it. It might be the protocol when replacing the XREAS. But if not, I would push them to do it since you'll need one with your new Daystar kit.

Just a thought: You may want to add clarification to your original post to inform those that come across this thread in the future.
