Daystar 2.5/1.5 wanted to buy

Does anyone know where to get a good Daystar kit for cheap? or is anyone selling one? I am trying to get my rig up and running for the fall trails and time is against me now.

Another question, should I get the XD Rockstars if I plan to be on trails and always working in the salt/ice in the winters?

Now that you told me about Wheeler's I am wondering if I should do the spacers or lift my suspension. What are you thoughts?

All depends on what you do with your runner. Do you go offroad? If so, just mild offroading or some serious back country stuff? Are you just looking to level the front out? Is the lift only for looks?

That and the size of your pocket book will help you decide what direction to go . I know the DS 2.5/1.5 is very popular and is recommended by a lot on this forum. I went with a full suspension upgrade as my stock suspension was "tired". The Daystar spacers are a cheap way to lift your truck while retaining your stock suspension. If you have the cash, do it right the first time and get some coilovers or do the FJC/Bilstein swap like me. My entire setup was under $500 (installed myself). Good luck!

Krup - what all did you get for yours and how high does it sit now? I may be interested in doing the whole suspension since i've had the stock on there for 170k miles. But i'm also just doing some mild offroading and a lot of road driving.

Chaz posted the link that has ARK_SWAMP_RIDERS spreadsheet. I've done a TON of research over many months and here's what I ended up with:

- FJ Coils from 2007 4x4 = $80 (purchased from FJC forum)
- Bilstein 5100's = $350 (posted on eBay for $369 and they came down to $350 and paid for shipping - Offroad Warehouse)
- rented a coil compressor (free from O'reily's, just a deposit)
- 12-pack of Stone IPA (priceless )
- alignment at dealer = $90 (I think it was $80 or $90, I don't have the receipt in front of me)

Total = $520 including the alignment

Total intall took approximately 4 hours. Like most things, the first one took the longest and after you have it figured out it goes quicker. Here are my before and after measurements:

before:
front pass: 33.5"
front driver: 33.25"
rear pass: 35.5"
rear driver: 35.5"

after:
front pass: 35.25"
front driver: 35.25"
rear pass: 35.75"
rear driver: 35.75"

I put the 5100's on the 3rd notch (1.75 setting) and that proved to be perfect. You can see before and after pics on the link that Chaz posted (page 4 is my truck). Let me know if you have any more questions :cheers:

Krup - thanks for the quick advice. I'm already looking for the 5100's. Do you know if there are any coils just like the FJ ones that I could buy brand new? and also, I am wanting to get a little bit more lift out of this, possible 1" in the rear. Do you recommend spacers or something else?

If you want more lift in the rear then you could get some lift springs (OME or Sway-a-way) or just add a spacer. Down the road when I get bigger tires I'm probably going to move the 5100's to the top notch (2.25) and add a 1" rear spacer. I found this 1" spacer on eBay:
