Daystar and bilstein combo?

I'm going to put 5100s on front and rear of my trail 2013. Plan on setting the front at 1.75 since I've read over 2 will cause problems. I think I want to add daystar spacers int he back. Has anyone had any problems with this combo? I don't plane on leaving the pavement.
Also recommendation for ordering the daystar? Thanks in advance.

If you don't plan on ever leaving the pavement, why not save yourself the money and time, and just do spacers all around?

I installed that setup when I first bought mine. Even if you don't off road, the on road manners of the Bilsteins are much better then the stock shocks. I ordered the daystar spacers off amazon.

Will work perfectly fine!

what problems?

The higher you lift without changing UCA's the worse your alignment specs get. :ybrick:

from what I gather, it is 3"+ that you end up needing the UCAs. there is a bunch of people running 2.5 lifts with a stock UCA without any issues.

Yup, sho nuff. And there's also a bunch running lower lifts with alignment problems. Mine is right at 2" and I can't get more than 1 degree of caster with the factory UCA's. It drives fine for me but is a little squirrelly at highway speeds in a stiff crosswind. Of course, I spent 15 years driving a '72 Blazer that you had to steer every inch of the way on a trip, so as far as I'm concerned this thing is a slot car.

The point that has been repeatedly made is if you go 3" or more YOU WILL NEED NEW UCA'S. Nobody has said you MAY NOT need them after a lower lift setup. It will vary by each vehicle and how objectionable a driver finds it's driving qualities after the lift.

In most cases it's better to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

First get some new UCA's CJ! I'd recommend mine but you'd probably be fine with SPC LR where you live. (Cheap on Amazon) I'm back from Moab, gorgeous weather, I mean sickening how awesome it was...

Second, I was at 2.5" with factory UCA's and "most" people can lift around there or less and still run factory, but plan on getting new eventually, it's worth it.

set the front to 2.5" and thank me later. you don't need UCA, you can get the alignment right without... but as 3wbdriver stated every vehicle is differnt

Running 5100s all around on 2014 TEP. Front at 1.75, no lift in the rear yet. Either going Cornfed 1 inch, or trim spacers (haven't decided yet)... Ride is MUCH better on the 5100s if you have the money to do so. Added some TG G2s and got rid of the stock Dunflops... Little noisier at higher highway speeds, but that's expected. Drives like an entirely new truck (in a good way). 100 times better in the wet.
