not sure if this helps, but I have 08 FJ coils and springs right now and the daystar 2.5/1.5 kit would not fit unless i was to use spring compressor or remove lower control arm. just an fyi

Hey mrpanic7, I'm adding the FJ coils to my DS 2.5 this Friday and would like to hear some feedback from you on the ride. do you have any pics?

well i ended up not using it because it was too much of a hassle to install so im going to wait until i do my full suspension lift.

Ill upload a pic in a bit, right now im only running FJ springs and shocks, no daystar. But there is big difference in ride. Less brake dive and body roll, and overall much better handling

your question isn't clear but if you plan on replacing the OEM struts/shocks with the FJs you will lose the XREAS.
Your Windex spraying and swiping are impeccable! I basically wanted to know if you could keep XREAS in tack with the FJ swap.
And since we're on the subject, why doesn't it work? Please excuse my mechanical clumsiness.
And an FYI ... your belayer just tied the line to a twig while he/she fetches a beer ...

The XREAS consists of crosslinked shocks that are only on the XREAS equipped 4runners. If you replace them with the FJ shocks, they don't have the XREAS connections. If you want to keep the XREAS, then you can install just the FJ springs and keep the stock 4runner XREAS shocks, however depending on the age and condition of the XREAS system you may be better off swapping to the FJ shocks if they have lower miles.

I have a Sport with the Daystar 2.5 lift and went in last week to 4wheelparts to see if they could install the FJ springs that I grabbed from the FJ forums. They were not interested in attempting since they'd have to disassemble the front struts. I'm waffling like Favre to either install them myself or sell the springs. I don't think any member on here has XREAS, DS & FJ springs...there maybe a good reason why not.

There have been on here who've ran that setup. There shouldn't be any issues. A lot of shops won't touch xreas because they don't want to be held liable if something happens since the system is very costly to replace. Do it yourself or find another installer, well worth it considering you already have the fj coils.

sorry im rocking a V6 with the black Tokicos and it gave me about 1/2" all round. The performance especially off road was the real value of it all

yeah, that's exactly what the guy told me that they didn't want to be liable...even though they installed my DS a few months back. As long as others have ran this setup with XREAS with success then I'll keep the springs and see if I can get some help with the install. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction ARK.

I also currently have a Sport with the DS 2.5/1.5 XREAS setup and have FJ springs waiting to be installed. I plan on doing it myself once I can find someone to help me. I anticipate that it will be an extremely tight fit on the front and will need extra hands to assist. It was a tight fit with the spacer. If I get around to it first, I will let everyone know how it went.
