Daytime Running/Directional Light issue

I was hoping someone could give me a solution to my problem.

My passenger side day time running light/directional (the bright yellow light) burned out after 7.5 years and 85k. I picked up one at the hardware store and replaced it. I turned the 4Runner on and it worked. The next day I happened to noticed that my "fast blink" was still happening and I checked....no light...it was blown again.

So, I figured it was a bad bulb - I picked up another. Same exact thing happened...it worked fine and then it was gone the same day.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mine had the same issue when I bought it from the dealer; when they took it in on trade, the bulb was burned out and they replaced it and it burned out again during my test drive. They diagnosed it as a bad socket that was causing the bulb to short and ended up replacing the socket with a new one. I have not had any problems with it in the month I've had it.

i had the same problem....you have to make sure the bulb is completely snapped in..i would check it before you go buying a new bulb...you have to push it in pretty hard too...unles you kno for sure its really blown

Yeah same thing...my bulb fell out in the housing even...it only goes in one way and it goes way in...try flipping it over and really jamming it in there...Took me a few tries to get it all the way in.

WOW....I'm an idiot. After reading this, I took the bulb back out and made sure it snapped in TWICE and it worked like a dream.

Thanks for the feedback.
