Daytonaviolet's build thread

Just picked these up from the paint shop tonight. The valances use to be silver. The scoop was unfinished. I was going to use the finished scoop which is already black but I want the valances to match. I’m sure these will chip in a few weeks [emoji12]

But for now .. they look so purty :-)

Nice, wish mine were black. You puting those on the limited? Ready to cut 27 holes? That was a fun mod on my prestine sr5.

Mine are pre-cut

Spent a few hours Saturday afternoon and few hours today. I was able to complete the following

1. Fender liners
2. Rocker panels
3. Hood scope insert
4. Front bumper
5. Pro grille

Unfortunately while taking off the front fender flares (required when removing fender liners) I broke several clips on the fender flare. I can’t believe how weak these were. I ended up using epoxy to repair the clips. I learned that the clips used to hold in the fender liners are not reusable.

Here's my bumper list. Let me know if you have any questions. Some of the items I put qyt5 as I was unsure how many clips I needed. But most of the clips I re-used. Let's just say, I have some extra clips. :bravo:

Could we get some side shots to see how the bumper hangs as compared to the rear? Is the rear bumper noticeably lower now? Also, did you retain the rear parking sensors?

I’ll take some today. As for the rear TRD bumper, I may install those tonight. If not for sure this weekend. But yes, the rear will hang down like 2”. I plan to re-install both front and rear parking sensors. For the rears, the outer ones will be in the standard location. The two inner ones will be on the valance. Well that’s my plan.

Were you able to reuse the limited reinforcement, or did you have to buy one?

That would be #24 on the limited list, unfortunately no. But luckily, there are many folks doing the winch style bumper or full metal bumper which requires them to remove the Sr5/TRD reinforcement bar #23. Usually you’ll find them used on the forum or Craigslist .

Only the items in green transfers over.

Yesterday I installed the TRD wheels, Nitto ridge grapplers 285/70/17 and TRD pro Bilstein suspension with Cornfed 2/1.5 spacers. I’m so amazed how much firmer the truck has become in a good way. The overall height is now about 2.75” higher then stock.

Great job on the conversion. I came across a way to paint the valences that looked great. My buddy used a raptor paint on them for a build he did and they have a great look and I think they would stand up to chipping. I am planning on doing it with my TRDOR.

that looks great. perhaps once my valances are chipped up all do this as well.

Aww man i like the limited front end with the scoop. Minus the chrome it looks more beefy to me for w.e. reason.

Power to you for doing it right tho.

What is Raptor paint, like Ford Raptor or like bed liner? I'm looking at options. Afraid Plasti will look to DIY.
