DDM HID's suck so bad its ridiculous - other brands?

my DDM's have gone bad for the 4th time now and Ive had it. I just sent them an email demanding my money back and am wondering what yall think I should i get

The bulbs they sent me are too long for either low beams or fog lights. Won't fit.
Junk. Guess I got what I paid for, maybe got lucky in the long run by avoiding your experience of failed bulbs.
 
lol WHAT? ive had ddms in every car ive owned in the last 3 years (12 cars) never a single problem, never flickering, shutting off, burned ballast etc etc. I also sell them at my brothers stereo shop and again in the 3 years we have not had any problems at all. I do not represent ddm in fact I think their customer service is **** but just my personal facts
 
dude they freakin blow. every time its the same dang thing. they just stop working. and i get the new ones and they are never a complete new set. they always look used, and more than once i have had to splice **** together myself to make it work. thats complete BS. no excuse
 
you run into these issues with ANY HID company, i have even seen people that spend hundreds of dollars of Phillips brand German HID's and still bulbs or ballast burn out. i saw on another forum that someone received a used bulb with some milkish looking stuff inside the bulbs from one of the preferred vendors of this site.

i guess the point i am trying to make is **** happens, especially when you buy cheap chinese products. that being said if you want to continue to buy cheap chinese kits, then look at seller Clearviw Digital on Amazon.com, i have had good luck with them and their shipping is prompt. unlike DDM which is rubbish.

I have a set of 35watt DDM's that are still NIB.....because I haven't felt like messing with them. I'll put them in some day and see what I think....

I literally said out loud " haha he said rubbish" LOLL. its not an american thing so we think it's funny I guess
 
I have 3 sets of ddm hids. Only problem was the ballast was DOA. They replaced them for free.

I also have morimoto kit. Great product other than the plastic tabs being fragile on the bulb where it meets the socket.
 
I just got DDM Hids and installed them a couple days ago. Everything works as should, so fingers crossed for no issues.....other than damn high beams now go on when trying to turn on fogs lol
 
I'm using the 55w 8000k Bi-Xenon from Xenon Depot. Everything worked great except for the harnesses. Every time I would go over bumps, one of the lights will flicker or go out and I have to play with the fuses to get it to work again. I first had issues with it and contacted them. They were nice enough to give me a replacement and everything was well for about a year before this problem acted up again. It seem to be loose connections at the fuse that I'll have to look at and try to fix.

Bulbs and ballasts are quality and good customer service. Check them out, he's a vendor here.

Me too. I have a 55w H4 hi/low Apexcone Raptor kit I got from DDM tuning back in 2010 and about a week ago a bulb from my 4th set has gone bad. Each time I send in both bulbs, one working, one dead, I get 2 bulbs back that seems to be new.
1st set had a bulb go out after 18 months, second, 7 months, 3rd, 3 months, 4th, about 18 months. Thank goodness for their lifetime warranty!
The failure behavior is thusly; Sometimes the pending bulb death goes out without warning and never works again. Sometime there is a color or brightness shift shortly before death.
I guess I'll keep the system because swapping bulbs are very easy on my vehicle. The ballasts have been 100% reliable.

Though I am tempted to buy a pair of rebased Philips 85122 H4 hi/lo bulbs if I can find them but would probably be above $100
 
Been dealing with ddm for almost 3years, during that period I've purchased 4kits so far only one of my kits crapped out which was just one of the ballast which they did replace free, only down thing is it took about 2weeks to come in being that I live in Hawaii, I am currently running ddm's in my runner at the moment with stock halogen housing. I know it's not the right setup, hopefully I can start a retrofit headlight soon, but anyways honestly it's a gamble when your buying anything thats shipped from china .
 
I've personally installed at least 15 DDM kits on my cars and friends cars. Never a single issue with any of them, at least that I would complain about for a $40 HID system shipped.
