DDM Tuning Saber LED for DRL / High

I noticed that my driver's side DRL was a little dimmer than the passenger side, and when I got out and looked at the bulb, sure enough, one of the LEDs was out. I inquired about a warranty claim, and they want me to send everything back so they can test it, which poses a problem. I had another ballast lying around since they had to replace one of mine originally, so I gave it a try. It fixed the problem. Now I just have to figure out how to get them to send me another ballast, since that is the issue.

Agreed. I have (had) DDM HIDs and my Jeep would eat ballasts for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would include my testing steps that outlined the issue was isolated to the ballast. They requested only the ballast back. The downside was I had to send the ballast first and wait for a replacement to be shipped. As I recall it was NOT a fast process.

Just got these in and installed. The hyperflash thing is about as annoying as I was anticipating. On one hand, it's not THAT noticeable, but you can definitely see it if you are looking for it or if you see the light reflected off something. On the other hand, as others have mentioned in this thread - motorcycles often have pulsing headlights as a way to be seen. So this is similar in a much more subtle manner. If it helps you be seen by others even a little bit, that is the entire purpose of DRLs.

I will probably stick with them for a bit and see if the hyperflash grows on me or I get sick of it. If I get sick of it, I'll likely do the DRL delete and go with DRLs some other way and keep the LEDs as high beams. Either OEM 2-way fog lights or the Aiden James bezel light kit.

As for that Aiden James kit, it seems very interesting, but I haven't seen any reviews of it here. Anyone know where you can get more information on it?

I honestly am not bothered by the flicker but someone mentioned that I needed to get that taken care of before it causes damage...

Not sure what it would damage outside of the bulb. What did the person say it would damage or was it was of those states where the person had no clue but needed to give input

I've lived with the flicker now for awhile and it doesn't bother me as much anymore. I don't notice it in the reflection of a car in front of me and I can't really see it very easily looking at them. The main times I notice it is when I pull up to a wall. While it would be nice to not have it, it's not a reason to not get these IMO.

I'd love to know the shipping times with Amazon. I ordered mine off of the DDM website - it's been a month since I ordered and they're still not here. I'm a little upset with them since I called to ask about shipping times and they said about 10 business days to get it to me.

If you call them direct in Cali, they will ship it from there!

Saker - don't worry I saw your comment previously and tried that. When I called them and asked for shipping from Cali they said my only shipping option to send it from Cali was to expedite it which would have been an extra $60 dollars if my memory is correct. That's over half of what I paid for the 40w Pro bulbs. Sales/customer support on the phone said shipping from China to my zip code would take 7-10 business days no problem. Definitely some miscommunication or miscalculation in that somewhere.

Did you get the 40W bulbs? When I checked Amazon I don't remember seeing the Saber 40W Pro bulbs as having prime shipping, so it didn't make a difference for me.

when i called DDM about ordering some sabers a couple months ago, they told me they were having overheating issues in 5th gen 4Runners. does this new saber pro eliminate this issue? or should i go with the TRS morimoto kit?
