Dead Factory Radio

This weekend my factory radio died without any warning. Saturday it was working fine, on Sunday it won't turn on or display anything. I checked the two radio fuses under the hood and neither of them were blown. Any chance there might be an easy fix? Or is my radio blown and I need to install a new one? Has anyone else had the factory radio die on them? I'd rather not have to replace the factory radio if I don't have to.

I was a little surprised to have a problem with the Toyota factory radio, it seems like they usually last forever. I have the standard Toyota radio, not the JBL upgrade. Also I added a USA Spec iPhone adaptor, but it's been on for almost five years without any problems--so it seems unlikely that's it. The adaptor still charges my iPhone, so it's still getting power.

I have the stock (not JBL one) out of my 2008, if you have to buy a new one, I'll make a heck of a deal on mine

i have a 03 as well, mine has been on the random fritz for years, just haven't gotten around to replacing it. only drive the runner maybe 5k a year

It happened to me once, no audio, but display was ok , no idea on what the problem was, but I took it to autoshop they unplugged it, plug it back in and problem solve, every fuse was fine

This actually just happened to me this weekend. It was working when I stopped, I got out to check that the kayaks were still on tight (left car running) and when I sat back in the driver seat it was dead. May take one of you guys up on a radio deal if I find out its dead. I have the JBL one.

The radio does not turn on or accept CDs. The display does not show anything. And I pulled both of the radio fuses and neither were blown but disconnecting and connecting the power via the fuses did not improve the situation. I assume pulling the fuses and putting them back in would have the same effect as unplugging the harness and plugging it back it (maybe not?).

That said, I'm not much of an electronics guy, but it seems busted to me.
