I have read reviews these are not super bright, but I have been in some nasty fog and rain and think they would have helped. We'll see how they perform, or if they even fit where I am planning to put them....

That's a good deal as I paid around $180 and I've had them on in the lower grill for almost 3 years now.Just last week I replaced the H3 bulbs as one burned out. The stock bulbs are 55W PIAA clear ones as the yellow is from a filter in the lens itself in front of the bulb and not the bulb . Funny thing is the PIAA replacement from their bulb chart calls out for their expensive 100W extreme bulb but mine came with the cheaper 55W bulbs.Replaced them with Osram Sylvania 100W ones for less then half the price of the PIAA 100W ones .

They barely fit in that lower opening with their rock gaurds on and I just made brackets to attach it to the bumper and then later to the BB winch plate . I cut the holes out in the factory grill where the lights go. If I need to use the winch,I just reach the winch spool lever from under the hood as I don't use the winch much anyway.

Others have stated they are not bright like driving lights and that's because they are NOT supposed to be . They are true fog lights made for driving in fog and do an outstanding job cutting through the fog like they were designed for with their ion crystal lens.We only have fog here a hand full of nights a year but it's nice to have them when I need them as I do alot of night driving.I turn them on as marker lights or on rainy, drizzly nights too as the yellow is very visible to other drivers.

Here's the output on the garage door at less then 10ft and my driveway is slanted a little.

I test fit the lights on the stick-out brackets I had on the BB tray. (These brackets were just the icon sway bar relocation brackets I had left over, bolted them up to the BB tray and it allowed a place to put an off road flag). This setup of the lights on the bracket would work well to allow your hand to reach in to move the clutch lever, but I did not like how it looked. Stuck out too far and looked silly.

I took off the stick out brackets and the lights bolted up to the BB tray no problem. The bumper cover fit back on with minimal interference.

So these lights are simple bolt on to the newer BB tray.

Anyone have pics/how-tos on mounting these to that lower grill area? I'd like to put the fogs down there and then some driving lights behind the big grill once I get my hands on SoCal's bracket.
 
Yeah, I missed typing the "P" in the coupon code. Fixed now.

Also, I only had the bumper cover on loosely previously. When I went to screw it down I realized the fitment was a little tighter. I may end up having to dremel some more clearance into the bumper cover for the top of the lights.

In the last issue of Overland Journal they did a review of LED lights.

When I read the article I liked the features and looks of the PIAA LP570.

With this sale the price for the 570 goes from $350.82 to $280.66. Pretty tempting. The size of these is 7.5" / 7.2" / 4.25" (H/W/D)

I'm not sure where the Socal behind the grille light bracket with come out, but based on the stock crossbeam it looks like it will be close, but these should just fit.
 
I had these on my 3rd gen, mounted in a shrockworks bumper. Also ran 540 ion fogs on my old Subaru. They put out plenty of light for what they were intended to do. In inclement weather, I actually tended to run them by themselves. I plan to put the ion bulbs into my ARB fogs when I get the chance.
In response to Harper, that's strange about your bulbs. I have been running PIAA products for years and my ion fogs have always come with the ion bulbs.
I am also thinking of using this discount opportunity to give those new PIAA led lights a try. After the article in overland journal, these went straight to the top of the want list
 
Can these be mounted straight onto the bumper (drill holes in the bumper and mount) or do you need some sort of mounting bracket?
