Dealer Scratched My Wheels

Hey Antman,
I'm sticking with the same color of the wheel (new Konig Countersteer) which is powder coated black. I had the wheels put on two days before it happened. I hope it turns out like yours did.

request for them to be PC'd again.
its not that expensive, and it returns you to WHOLE, as you were before they damaged the wheel.

i wouldnt accept a paint job.
 
FWIW- I looked into powder coating my SR5 wheels, Vs painting them black about a year ago. I currently have them plastidipped.

Paint was actually more expensive than P/C, but I only called 4 or 5 shops. Some members thought the prices I quoted were high though.

I will eventually most likely go with paint for 1 reason. The center caps can't be powder coated, and I want them to match.

Either way you will be fine I would say!
 
I won't be paying for it. I know that the wheels will never stay brand new. Like I said, I had them on for 2 days and to see what they had done was just a bummer. The service manager said he'd call me this week and I'm still waiting.

While the dealer doesn't want to spend money if they don't have to, they should be more concerned about customer relations (keeping you happy). If you don't hear from them by early tomorrow afternoon, call the SM, if he isn't around or doesn't have an a decent answer, call back and talk to the general manager. Don't let them stall you. If you don't get a good answer from either, contact Toyota Corporate and get them involved. They are pretty good at acting as customer advocates.

How much is high? I own a powdercoat shop and I'm curious :)

I charge about $260, but that includes getting the original paint chemical stripped first which cost me about $50 to outsource
