Dealers not doing billed maintenance

Normally if I can I use a sharpie on stuff that is being replaced. When having my tires rotated I mark with my nail an F on the front and R on the rears to see if they switch them. Never had an issue with stuff not being done except at the dealership.

I've even noticed that they "took out" my cabin air filter one time to bring it to me dirty to suggest I replace it. But I told them that I watched them the entire time work on my vehicle and not once did I see anyone go near my filter. So I told him to take me out there and show me where my filter housing was open and of course they said they couldn't let me back there because of liability. I assumed they have a dirty filter laying around that they like to show people as a scam.

That same day there was also had an old retired guy that just picked up a Tundra a few months earlier and asked about getting Sirius installed. The manager walked out to his truck and then came back in and quoted him $800 to install a new radio along with the antenna. I walked back out with the guy and show him that his truck already had it and he just had to call Sirius to get the service turned on.

To say the least that dealership hasn't seen a dime from me in that past 10 years and if I have to go to a dealership for anything at all I bypass them and go 25 miles further down the road to a different one that has taken care of me and has really shown themselves to be honest over the years.

The air filter thing gets me, that they have the balls to do that--not the first time I've heard that story.

I usually mark my filters (both car and home) to indicate the install date so I can remember when to change them out--unwise if you come to me with a filter without my writing on it.

If you lube zerks, there's a chance excess grease may leak out (normal).

When I inquired why it wasn't done as specified, they said "customers complain when a little grease leaks out of the prop shaft zerks and ruins their driveway, so we prefer not to do it."

I just do it myself now, guess what--dry as a damn bone when I did it the first time.

Amazing incompetence. When I lube the zerks I wipe all the excess off so I don’t get driveway drips or centrifugal splatter on the underside. It’s a pain since I’m on my back doing contortions but up on a lift it would so much easier. Nobody gives a shit about your stuff like you do.
