Dealer's offer to check yr. battery for only $110

I received today the usual Toyota dealer's service mailer. But I was astonished to see a coupon for a "TrueStart Express Battery Check" at a price of $109.95 plus tax, good "with any dealership service. Results provided within minutes and performed conveniently while your vehicle is in for service."

Is something wrong here?

Sounds like a good thing to do when you have your muffler bearings greased and the air in your tires rotated. Even if they did a load test on the battery and a check of the charging system, they are over charging. Amazes me that people pay for frequent FI cleaning, trans and radiator flushes. Maybe every 2-3 years is justifiable. Reminds me of when they used to add (without asking) a jug of "$pecial" oil treatment when they changed the oil. Ha, they must be feeling the pressure from "Iffy Lube's" technical expertise.

Does that include refilling your blinker fluid or is that $19.95 extra?

Autozone, Pepboys or the like will check your battery for free.

I recently took mine in for the first time, since owning my vehicle, for mount & balancing new tires. They offered a good deal on this; however they told me that my rear pads would only last another 2 weeks! How do they know if I even drive it everyday? I said no as I do my own brake jobs (plus they wanted $ 240 for the service). That weekend I measured my rear pads. I had 4 mm on them and the rotors are smooth as glass. So that is enough to carry me at least thru the end of this year. A-holes.

They also said I should have a fuel system service for $ 150. I said that it is never needed and that nothing ever will go in my gas tank other than gasoline!!

just what i really need, a "cross drilled brake lines" and that" Flux Capacitor"? i could really use that to travel back to the future once installed on my 4R. lol .

Wow my dealer checks the battery load for free with oil change ($24.95). Last time they gave me a free battery (under warranty). They also check "everything" else on the car. last time they recommended that fuel system clean out thing for $40 but I said no
