Debadged or not Debadged that is the question

I've always been a fan of debadging the 4th gen, at least conceptually, and frequently toyed with the idea of taking the emblems off of mine. Aside from making washing and waxing easier it just seemed as though it would provide a much more minimalist look. I hate bling and when it comes to trim, badges, chrome, etc., I'm almost always on the side of less is better.

Then, last week, I saw a debadged Galactic Gray 4 Runner. It didn't live up to my expectations. I had always assumed that once I actually saw a debadged 4 Runner I'd immediately want to do the same to mine. Now, I'm thinking this isn't a mod I want to consider.

So I thought I'd send out my first poll. How do you feel about debadging the 4th Gens, have you ever seen one, does the color matter, would you even consider it.

Not a fan of debadging. Saw some close up and decided against it.

I think it looks pretty good. With my Black 4R i can go in two ways... Chrome the S**t out of it and bling it up or go for the all black stealth look. Needless to say i went with the stelthy look. Its really nice especially when the car is freshly washed and waxed. Without the letters your eye can just run through the curves nice and smooth.

If your worried about discoloration... i havent had any problems (and thats on a black car!)

I agree with the stealth look. I debadged mine and never looked back. Next I am going to paint the toyota emblems black.

I actually like the look of the badges in sunlight. The chrome badges look good on my Titanium and just pop with with my Shadow runners. What I cannot stand are gold badges (unless your stuck in a time warp and think you still live in the '90s). It's like getting gold teeth, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

I want to replace the badges on my wife's 04 as the magnesium chloride they use on the roads in CO corrodes these in one winter even when you try to keep them clean. Where is the best place to order these? How to the ones on the side and rear attach and how do you remove these. Thnx

Maybe a partial debadge would be ok but the complete job has become kinda trendy.

Dealership Badges annoy me. Some get pretty obnoxious.

Partial debadging for me. Just took off the door badges. Kept the trunk ones.

Badges on doors are just plain tacky.

Since 4Runners sport either: SR5, Sport Edition or Limited, I'll leave it. On the other hand if it wore VE (Value Edition) or CE (Classic Edition or was it Cheap) like older Corollas, I'd definately debadge them.

My Limited had the gold badges on it. Way too much fake bling for me, it had to go. Only problem is, I couldn't get all of the sticky crap off. I can still see a faint outline of where the badges were. My 4Runner is an '02 and I didn't buy it until 2005. I guess it's better to do it sooner than later.

I'd use tint spray on them and make them black/chrome style. I want to do that to my '99's emblems.

Debadge, I did my commuter Corolla and swapped the 'T' for a black pearl. Much cleaner.

Debadged the sides, took "Toyota" off of the rear, and added a custom badge that is in my sig.
