I did the same with mine. I just debadged the side. You can search through the gallery and find some that are completely debadged. The only one I can think of right now is a thread that was titled "black + tint - badges" or something like that.. I can't remember word by word. It's a black one though.. I don't know if you'r looking for the same color as yours or not. But they do look good debadged.

Yup I debadged the 4Runner a couple of weeks ago. Its completely naked from head to foot

Heat seems to work the best for debadging. Either leave your truck in the sun or use a hair dryer. I also used some dental floss to get under the adhesive.
It's a cheap mod that doesn't take a lot of time and IMO makes the truck look better.

I wanted to debadge mine but never got around to it. Had my 04 ltd since last Halloween so it might be too late to debadge it. i.e. paint fading.
I do get comments about the doors saying "Limited 4WD" not the best planing on Toyotas' part when folks ask me what's limited about it? Can't go off-road?

I have a similar problem, but not as drastic (probably because zach34 has a 1999). Has anyone noticed a faint outline where the letters used to be? You can only see it if you are relatively close. Mine doesn't seem to be "dug in to the paint", but rather a raised white outline. Maybe it is simply old wax? Or maybe some extra glue? I have only had it washed once, so it may be solved with a few more washes. Plus, I will have access to a hose soon, so I can give it a bath myself, and focus a little love on those areas. I guess I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this same problem, and what there solution was.zach34 said:

luxury I have a black 03 I debadge mine a few weeks ago finally. Wash the areas well and polish the extra glue off. I cant see anything after I did that. Ill take pictures in a week when my taillights get here. Chris
Black and white are two colors that don't fade which is probably why impulsebrklyn does not see any evidence of the emblems. I think if you wanna debadge on any other color you need to do it immediately otherwise you'll see faded/non-faded paint images.
I really like the look of no badges but I'm lazy when it comes to putting any effort into keeping my car even clean. I shoulda asked the dealer to debadge it. Oh well, next one..

When I debadged mine it had that white residue you mentioned, but I washed the truck right afterwords and did a quick wax. There wasn't a residue afterwards. I think that residue is the old wax, dirt, grime that gets stuck between the lettering.
