I've thought about doing this too. I usually don't mind the badges, I just don't like the font they used. Doesn't match the style of the Runner.

That's exactly why I removed mine. What's with the faux western font on a truck made in japan?

It just looks dumb to have a truck with a totally modern design, with an old western looking font.

The font they used on my 91 4Runner would have looked better.

I DEBADGED MINE LAST WEEK WITH NOTHIG BUT A HAIRDRYER.
THE TRUCK LOOKS AWESOME. I HAVE THE TRUCK SINCE NOVEMBER AND HAD NO SIGNS OF ANY FADING. ALL I DID WAS WAX IT WITH A LITTLE MOTHERS CLEANER WAX. BY FAR THE BEST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER USED. NO NEED FOR MORE EXPENSIVE WAX. ASFOR THE EMBLEMS THE ONLY ONES LEFT ARE THE OVAL TOYOTA EMBLEMS FRONT AND REAR. THE V8 EMBLEM POPS RIGHT OUT OF THE GRILL. GOOD LUCK.

Did mine this morning over the course of about 2 hours. Blowdryer was all it took to get every last one off--the floss method wasn't much help. I got the letters loose by rotating them so as not to scratch anything, then used my fingers (ow) and premoistened glass wipes to rub the residue off. I bet car wax would have been easier.

I'm really pleased I did this. After baking in the sun for a year, the outlines are hardly noticable at all (and only up super-close), and after a couple of waxes I'm sure there will be no evidence of the outlines. I'll probably post pics in another thread when it's done being detailed.

Well I feel stupid. I put the V8 badge on the back last week, right below the 4runner badge on the right side. Looks good, but now I want to debadge it. I debadged my white Tundra and it looked great. I wonder if I can take the V8 off and reapply it only somewhere else?

how did u take off the emblems? did u use floss or fishing wire??

Yes, no problems, only a little sore fingers. Oh, and if any glue/tape is left, use your finger to rub/peel it off.

for those of you on this thread with Sport Editions, are the letters on the SE seperate or all linked together like the "Toyota" on the back?

I need a letter "O" and will pay cash for one.

Just de-badged my 05 SE (galactic gray) and I must say I LOVE the new look. Very clean, very simple and yet distinctive as well. I've seen de-badged vehicles before and always loved the way they looked. It was easier than I thought. Just a hair dryer and a little pulling (carefully). Took less than 30 minutes.

The dealer did mine

When i first picked it up the one side was already gone. As it turns out, when it was being prepped for me, the guy who was buffing the car ripped one of them off the drivers side. So, as it turns out, i got a chance to see what it looked like on, and off the car at the dealers expense.

So, i went the next weekend and had them take it off the other side. But of couse the asshole that was doing it managed to put three huge scratches in the door. So, i made them take it to the body shop and fix the door. So, just a warning to you guys out there that are trying to do it, be very very careful.

But it looks sooooo much better.
