December Snow Wheeling Calender

28-29 Dec? Overnight? High Lakes? Bowman? Open for suggestions. We can do a couple day trips between now and then. Something to bring the wives and kids on. I know mine really want to go.

Nov 30-Dec 1: Open

Dec 7-8: Open

Dec 14-15: Open

Dec 21-22: Open

Dec 28-29: Overnighter, location TBD

I prbably will NOT be available on any Saturdays besides the 28th and the 14-15 weekend I have family in town.

I'll update the calender here for anyone that wants to organize a trip.

I'll be up at High Lakes next weekend (30th/1st) overnight, but I'm open all the other ones unless something comes up. I'll prob leave the 28th weekend open because it's so close to new years. Might be going to Tahoe and splitting a room with some friends but not sure yet. Frigging rooms up there are sooooo expensive.... like $550 a night for a cheapo hotel.

I'll text you about the Nov 30th Dec 1st thing.

Did you hit any snow up there? We turned back at the GO BRONCOS rocks. Not nearly as fun w/o snow. Just a rough dirt road. Beautiful scenery but it's a hell of a drive for us! Are we there yet? I'm thirsty! I gotta pee!:argue: :crazy:

There was snow up at Summit but not much, just some icy crap. Hopefully it'll start dumping this week or next.

Not sure where the Go Bronco's rocks are? You gotta get all the way to Spring Valley before you hit any actual trails. There are a couple other little hidden spots though. I haven't even really begun to explore up there even though I've been up there a bunch now, the trails go for miles.

Did a quick run up Banner Quaker Hill Rd today. It's only 30min from us so it was easy to get to and have some wheeling/sledding fun. The road runs East out of Nevada City starting under Scotts Flatt Reservoir and snaking all the way out to HWY 20. Got half way today and had to turn back due to time. The half way point is a small man made reservoir for some kind of hydroelectric mess.

The road was well traveled so the driving was easy. 3400ft is where the snow fully covered the road and was a good foot deep. We topped out at 4500ft at that lil pond.

This is a trail that would be an easy day trip and family friendly. We had fun sledding down the road in the tire tracks. And my Boxer Bayn loves snow! So bring the kids, bring the dogs THE SNOW IS HERE!
