dee zee runningboard problem

i just got a dee zee nxc runningboard,suddenly while installing the side came of.i was able to put it back but i think something is missing.i dont know what you call this silver thing and where i can buy it.this is how it looks like.

Looks like some rivets are missing.....

Ahh,so does that mean they all fell off?any idea who sells it?Do any of the dee zee nxc owner had this problem?

I received the Dee Zee NXc running boards from AutoAnything about three weeks ago. On mine, ALL the rivets were missing or broken. I was able to pull the trim off of each board with no effort. Also, one piece of trim was dented. It's taken three weeks to get them sent back and now I'm waiting for a replacement.

When I got mine all the rivets were securely in place. While I was trimming an inch off the front of each running board to fit better with my mudguards, one rivet popped off. I just replaced it with a small screw that fit the hole well. Haven't had any problems with them and it's been a couple months so far.

Not sure how they are constructed (and not impressed either based on this issue), but would some plastic auto body rivets work in place of the failing rivets? It sounds like it's just a cover, right?

Same here, somewhere along the way from the factory to my car, a few of the rivets came off.

Initial P.O.'d feelings have given way to "meh" feelings. REALLY wish I had thrown some N-Fabs on

I just fixed mine,the hassle of sending them is just not worth it.even if you get a new one i think the rivet that they use will still come of.i think they use a cheap and thin rivet.i bought 5/32 rivet and it fits very well.

Yup mine too, cheap aluminum rivets. Go to the hardware store and get some #8 x 1/2" stainless screws and replace the rivets.

Better than waiting weeks for another set with the same cheap rivets!

I would have just replaced the rivets with screws except that my trim was dented as well.

I just received an email from the seller,they told me to dump the one i got and they will send me a new pair.Now i have 2 extra running board.a deezee and the oem. :wink2:
