Definitive A/C thread

It's not as good as my wife's Benz or many other cars I've driven in recent years, but it's so much better than my '06. That bastard blew luke-cool and took for.....ever to cool off the cabin in hot weather.

I've added an aux fan up front that kicks on whenever the compressor does to help. In all fairness, it is way hotter where I live than the 4Runner's intended market.

All the Prado's and GX's have roof-mounted vents and a dedicated blower cooling a similar sized internal cabin as the 4Runner. Can't understand why Toyota cheaped out on this with the 4Runner :shrug:

You should check the air temperature coming out of the vents. Mine is 38*F in the front vents and 50*F in the rear vents. The front feels like a refrigerator and I wish the rear cooled better.

im driving, i control two vents blowing at my chest and face, why do i care how cool it is in the back?

For the most part, the AC in my Runner is cold. There are time were I have to reposition vents because parts of me are warmer than others. :naughty: jk but still move vents around to cool down. At least it isn't like in my Taco. If I stopped, the AC would warm up after a bit. I never took it in for the issue and thought about adding an electric fan but never did that either.
