Denso Universal Oxygen Sensors

New Denso 4W Oxygen Sensor Toyota Vehicles Various | eBay


Anybody tried these? I was planning on replacing all 4 with these universal ones. I know the standard is buy quality and OEM but this is Denso. I wouldn't think it would make a difference.

I only ask because I was reading a forum and someone said the front two sensors were actually different types of oxygen sensors....not sure what they meant.

They are priced right! You save money because you need to use old connector and flange plate. It is most likely to be identical to the direct plug'n play sensor.

The pre-cat and post-cat are not the same. Nothing wrong with Denso though. I'm guessing those are post-cat but suggest checking elsehere for the ones you need before buying anything so you're not throwing away csh.

Autozone lists the part as going down and upstream.

Downstrean = Post-cat

Yes, I know that. Someone previously stated that they are different but autozone is listing it as for up and down.

I don't trust Autozone myself, I used NAPA to get mine but their Denso prices are something like $120 upstream and $90 downstream.

O2 sensor

Check at urd usa they have breakdown of all yrs, then check on amazon pre-cat is an a/f sensor & is alot more expensive well like 130$ compared to post are like 60$ .

It only lists 234-4169 as an upstream for a tundra 4.7. I assume that's the same for the 4runner but it isn't a drastic price difference.

So maybe the 4.7 is the same? I checked denso's website and it lists that initial one for all 4 as well.

Bought my 03 4R used six months ago, check engine light was on, my mechanic narrowed it down to the post cat. He told me if I replace them myself only use OEM or Denso sensors. Haven't had problems since.

I used two identical universal Denso sensors for both upstream and downstream. The different part numbers are because one has a longer wiring harness than the other, but the sensors themselves are identical. If you look at the description of the universal sensors, most will indicate that it is used as both upstream and downstream placement.:trophy:

That shouldn't work, The AFRs in the front run around 3volts, The O2s run around a volt... when did you change them out?
