Denver/Colorado Labor Day weekend trail runs?

haven't posted in a while, but i'm headed out to denver and will be there this friday through the tuesday after labor day, and God willing i will be driving my 4runner out for a day or two of off roading. anyone doing anything- I know it's probably one of the busiest weekends but that can't turn everyone away. i'm in the process of putting a lift on so i'm about 70% sure i'll be driving mine out- murphys law always helps me out.

I want to hit Spring Creek before it's to late. It is just off I-70 about 30-40 min from Denver. I am not sure if I can convice the family to go without the camping part, but I will work on it (them) this week. I don't remember the rating, but I think this is a slightly difficult trail, and not really stock friendly. It's on traildamage.com though, check it out.

I wanted to reply either way and get the ball rolling for ya.

As far as the panhard drop bracket (from your other post), I am not sure its vital. I have a suspension lift of about 2.75 to 3 in the rear and don't have it. As far as I know, its good to have, but don't sweat it.

thanks for replying. yea the 6-8 rating from trail damage is a bit much for me. i might be able to squeek by on a 6 with helpful spotting, but an 8 is past my abilities. but keep in touch and we'll see what happens. a

and what did you mean by before it's too late- according to trail damage it's one of the better ones in terms of late season runs. are some of the higher elevation trails already closed?

all the trails will be PACKED this weekend, lol but Im probley gonna hit something, just not sure when or where just yet, lol

shawner, i wont be there but the 6-8 trail rating is WAAAAYYY overated. I ran that thing completely stock.

well yea, i figured they'd be packed with all the people like me comin out for vacation...and yea i also figured you had to get your fix ric.

i'm willing to give spring creek a try if anyone is really interested in it...don't blame me if i start crying in the middle of it though.

csl, i'd be willing to consider camping a try if that will convince your family to let you run. anyone else interested in camping a night? i'd like to get a taste of colorado camping, but it'd be really awesome if it was somewhere not right off of 70 if i did. but maybe there's less bears to eat me right off of 70.

and that's too bad you won't be there A10- you weren't there my first time out either.
