FYI - they have both secuirty nuts and bolts...just search on the site. They have everything there and ship fast.

My Marcus 4 dash cam arrived faster than I had expected. Didn't take too long to mount. The packaging and instructions seem first rate; high quality unit.
The unit comes with the suction mount (I have to get the quick mount bracket with lens separately) and a very long power cord that plugs into the power outlet at the bottom of the center stack. So I ran the wire from the mount underneath the mirror up into the headliner, across to the passenger side A-pillar (carefully removed so I can run the wire inside the A-pillar cover but behind the air curtain), down under the dash beneath the glove compartment, under the center console, and over to the power outlet. I zip tied the wire coming out of the headliner to the rear view mirror mount to both hide the wire further and prevent it from pulling out when I install or remove the dash cam.
So except for the tad bit of wire from the unit to the headliner, there are no exposed wires hanging down. I didn't buy my memory card yet so did not have a chance to actually try it out. But at least I know it powers up...lol.
And it is not too obnoxious looking in the windshield.

No, thank you! Your posts are so informative and helpful, especially since I am new to the whole 4Runner scene. Even if I am not ready to do some of the mods you have done, your advice and willing to share is very much appreciated!

good software to view your dashcam videos, works really great if/when you hook up a gps to the unit or for that matter any raw dashcam video.

Great idea on the yellow ring. I think I will paint it black.
I just put in a 64 mico card; the dash cam is working great and love have the small but unobtrusive screen display.

yeah but the software is currently the best out there for dashcam raw files. it does have an English settings in the software so no biggie.
best part, it can read the G-sensor & GPS values and plot those in the viewer to see location via google maps.

So I took the GOBI sticker off my roof rack today. It had been suggested that I replace it for a TRD sticker but I had reserved that spot for my new Desert Dawg logo that I want to turn into a decal to put in that location. However my brother, who is a computer artist and is designing my new logo, is just too busy to worry about it for a while. But I really didn't like looking at the Gobi sticker anymore so off it came.
Luckily, I had ordered a couple more TRD stickers off eBay (see my side mirror sticker attempt - page 10). So $6 and about a week later, new stickers are here! So got the fairing all prepped; removed the GOBI sticker, cleaned the fairing, measured my locations, and put on the new TRD sticker.
"crooked".
No problem, I got a second sticker! Cleaned the fairing again, measured the location, and slipped while aligning the second sticker so some of the lettering stuck to the fairing out of alignment. Once on, you can't easily peel off and realign with the remaining letter spacing but I tried and ended up tearing a couple of the letters.
"hissy fit".
Now I consider myself fairly adept at most things automotive either by myself or with some help (built up a few engines in my day, tackled some fabrication projects, done some electrical work, yadi yadi yada), but for the life of me you'd think I could put on a @#$%^*&! sticker!

lol I prepped and aligned my sticker on the back window, even placed it correctly but for the life of me while removing the backing it still was tilted.
so now every time look out the back window I can see it ever so slightly tilted, but to freaking lazy to put the spare in its place.

Just reduce the air in your tires on the sticker's high side. Problem fixed!:hiding:
I hate it when I do stuff like that especially on some that "looks" simple but really isn't. Try taping a ruler (leveled) as a guide on the surface at the top so you can align the top of the sticker to the bottom of the ruler, assuming the edge of the sticker is actually parallel to the lettering (check that first).

Thanks guys, glad I am not the only one challenged with the simple things sometimes...lol.
ToyotaDoodz; good idea. I did something similar in that I used a couple pieces of thick double sided tape. Had my glasses on (check!), trouble light brightly illuminating my work area (check!), and so very carefully measured from the top of the fairing the locations (check!), and carefully placed my pieces of tape so that the sticker could butt right up (check!).
I wish someone had a camera after I patted myself on my back for being so "exacting" and stepped back to stare at my wonderful work...lol.
So back to reading other peoples' builds about how they fabricated some neat body armor or suspension upgrades all by themselves while I ferment over my sticker issue.

I apply and remove a lot of stickers from my car. Got a vinyl cutter and like making them for fun...
If you are worried about alignment, mix a very tiny amount (like one drop) of dish soap into a typical water sprayer bottle, fill with water. Then spray the entire area where the sticker goes till it's got as much water on it as possible and place the sticker lightly. It can then be moved around to get it positioned just right. Then use a roller (not a squeegee) to squeeze out as much water as you can.
You will likely have to let the sticker sit for an hour or more (in the sun if possible) for more water to dry out, then roller some more etc till you can lift the backing paper off without lifting the sticker itself.
