Designing a PCK for the 5th Gen, need some input..

Dave, if you could get a shot of the distance between the control box and the crossmember (viewing perpendicular to the centerline of the truck from the driver’s side) that would be helpful!

If you have a measuring tape, that’d be great also

Couldn't get a shot from the side, but here is from below looking straight up. Looks to be about an inch and a quarter distance from the rear edge of the crossmember to the front edge of the control box.

So, heard back from the shop, and I’m having to do a slight revision to make these bendable on my guy’s equipment; hang tight, will try to knock the redraw out during the work week.

In the interim, here’s a photo that shows how far off the factory bar is without a correction kit:

This seems like such a great solution. Noob question... Other than the obvious of welding the PCK into place, what is involved to re-center the rear end so the bar lines up with the new mount?

Sorry about that guys - I'm not getting notifications from T4R for some reason, and since I'm usually over on the 3rd Gen board, I didn't realize there were posts on the thread!

Anyway, I just got the A-OK from my bend shop that the revision is bendable, so we're going to make these! They're going to come in at $93.50 shipped. (that's CONUS - there'll be additional shipping for Canada and UK)

Also, I'll be including an appropriate (very nice, very $) nut with the kit (the factory nut is captive in the mount, so we need another one to go on the factory bolt.)

Just waiting for the completion ETA - I'm doing a run of 10, initially (the first one going to the kind woman who loaned me her truck for the development work.)



I'm pretty excited about this one - it's nicer than the 3rd Gen (don't tell anyone.)

Just removing the bolt from one end of the panhard bar allows the body to move back into alignment - the springs are under some tension on a lifted truck with a stock panhard bar.

In this photo, I'd just pulled the bolt out and the body moved over this much:

Then when I put the printed PCK in position, the bolt hole in the panhard was aligned perfectly, so I could slip the bolt in by hand.

This PCK should self-align better than my 3rd gen kit, because the factory mount on the 5th gen has more contours and is larger. Shouldn't require more than minor fitting, if any at all.
