Anybody out there from Detroit?

This town is overrun with Tahoes, Explorers and Grand Cherokees. I have driven them all and the 4 runner Sport V8 is the vehicle for me. It has better handling, acceleration, braking then all of the above. Unfortunaly I have to pay a lot more because of all the domestic rebates and my x-plan pricing. It is amazing that they with all the discounts you can get an Eddie Bauer Explorer for $9700 off of sticker.

Haven't picked one up yet but working on it. Too bad I can not get for $9700 off.

Still contimplating the supercharger.

Face it man the Imports know what they have and that they don't have to offer any incentives to move their cars especially 4Runners, lately I have seen so many 4th Gen driving around you would think people have caught on and stopped buying Ford Explorers:)

I don't live in an area specific to anything but it seems like the people are slowing buying more imports, more then afew guys I see are driving Acura MDX's and those new TL's which seem to be popping up everywhere and the nearest Acura dealer is 30 miles away, their is 1 guy who has a Cadillac SRX, all I can say is the 4Runner is faster.

My friend got something like 17k in total incentives, cash back, dealer maintenance, free tires, 0% interest on a loaded TrailBlazer:) other friend got a V8 Limited Grand Cherokee for like 32k down from 40;):

The last time I visted Detroit, it was hard to find a nice looking import on the road. I thought Detroit was not the right city for owning an import, heard lots of bad tales over that.

It is amazing how few imports are on Detroit road but I have seen more and more over the last 10 years. The problems is everyone gets huge discounts on top of the incentives you all see.

Fact: There are 31 metro Ford dealers and I think there are 6 Toyota dealers.

Jim,

You'll love the S/C. I've had a field day with mine-gotta love the power.

performance data....

Victor,

Have you gotten anymore performance data on that beast? I would be curious to have you take it to a 1/4 mile track and smoke some folks. Get us you 60 ft times, teap speed, etc.

If not, any chance you have a g-tech pro accelerator to measure 0-60 times? Maybe someone can loan you one.

I know the S/C and engine will be included in the 3/36 warrenty. Do you happen to know if I can get a factory extended warrenty and have it cover bumper to bumper? I put a lot of highway miles on and the 36k warrenty will only last 18 mo.

Someone has to test this in a magazine. With the dealer install and factory warrenty this is the reliable bank for the buck winner.

Thanks,
Jim

I tried doing a test with a bud, but didn't do it the right way, when I mentioned the rusults I got my ass chewed up because nobody believed my times. Needless to say I've had a couple of incidents on the freeway with people that had no idea I could go that fast. After five months with a blower on, I have no regrets. If you are having a dealer install it, make sure you shop it around. The stealer that install mine charged $600; I didn't' shop it around and later I found out the dealer next to may work would have done the same work for $400.

As far as the warranty is conserned I have no idea.
