Developing Problems... Need Insight

Over the past few days, the oil pressure gauge on my 2nd Gen V6 has been reading below the first mark when idleing and lower than midpoint when driving. I checked the oil yesterday and it was a little low. I topped it off and it is still reading too low on the gauge.

Then today while driving, the coolant temp gauge started climbing all the way to the red. I had to stop and shut her down for a while.

Low coolant/oil level? Headgasket problems developing?

The oil pressure guage sounds like it is reading correctly to me. Check your coolant level, it likely needs more. Change your oil and check for water in the oil, if so head gasket, if not it is leaking water somewhere, and may only be when you drive and evaporates, keep it running and look for leaks/steam

Thanks for the info.

I checked the oil this morning and it is still fine. (Right level, no water) However when I checked the coolant, in the radiator, it seems there is not enough.

How do you properly check the coolant level? I'm kind of confused by it.
