Dallas-Ft Worth area timing belt maintenance

The weekends are starting to get nicer, so it's a good time to get outside for a much needed 3rd gen timing belt change. I have never done this before but I am mechanically inclined enough to get it done on my own instead to paying a shop. My only dilemma is that I don't have the place to do it living in an apartment. Would anyone in the DFW area with the know how and proper crankshaft pulley bolt removal tool be willing to help me out? I'll provide lunch and the beer :hello:

There is only one specific tool used for tb jobs and a lot of us dont even use it . so it is just basic handle tools and some patience on your part. We knock them out in 2hrs, but we do it pretty regular. Dont be intimidated by it, if you need anything hollar.

About an hour south of Shreveport. It will probably be a weekday.

I'm glad some others are able to get some help out of this thread too

If I have to, I can make the tool out of a 2x4 and a couple of bolts. I saw a few plans for it online. I really just need a space and someone who can give a second set of eyes on what I'm doing...especially if they have done this before.

Just got my 4Runner yesterday and ordered all of my parts. Timing belt is definitely on the top of my list. If I find any free time I'm going to try and go ahead and do the water pump and timing belt while I can. I don't want to really drive the car until I have everything on it, which I'd say is going to be 3 weeks for all the various things.

Same here! I live in Fort Worth and have no place to do work on my vehicles either. I need to do the maintenance on my supercharger.
