Dice Mediabridge

Looking to add satellite radio and ipod control to my 04 factory nav on a budget. Was looking at the DICE and one of the other companies that was mentioned here.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these units in an o4. I have been researching but haven't found too much detailed info.

Basically looking for how it functions and if it is worthwhile.

Down the road I might consider an aftermarket unit that matches up perfectly and can utilize the factory controls and amps. I just hate having to hack up a perfectly good system and lose controls and have glitches.
I like the idea of the new systems with the usb for ipod integration.

I have an eclipse avn 5435 that is from 2005 in another car. I have read about some eclipse's needing nothing else to run in the toyota system. Doesn't toyota own Eclipse?

I have JBL and NAV (my t4r didn't come with a NAV, my unit is from a 2008 Sienna, but I never got the Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel AND mic to work). What's nice about the mediabridge is that you can connect USBs to it (other music). Caller ID on the screen is a huge plus. Apparently you can scroll through missed calls/received called for the phone and you can scroll through playlists on the AD2D. The other unit I've been looking at the Scosche's Bluefusion which apparently does the same thing. I still can't see the difference between the two. I'll report when I decide either.........

I don't think Toyota owns Eclipse, but I know they are no longer making aftermarket stereos. A lot of their stuff is PnP with Toyota.

smartphone integration with Toyota NAV

Very limited info on these aftermarket products as very few people have installed them. I never did buy anything, but thankfully I didn't.

1) Seems to be the best: (About $350 for iPhone)

Isimple has a unit that allows you to add several things to the oem stereo

-bluetooth with A2DP
-Sirius radio
-Ipod 30 pin connection
-AUX in with 3.5mm headphone jack
-USB option.

pricing is usually around $200 for the basic setup.

Keep in mind these things usually minic the SAT port on these radios. so bluetooth take over must be on that source. just like all the other add in audio stuff.

Now, there is another option.

I use Parrot MKi9100 its a hardwired option that plays thru existing speakers. Look it up and you'll see what i am talking about.

My suggestion, dont waste your time and money on these, buy a decent double din headunit. Kenwood DDX491HD is a good one.

Very true. However, that applies for those who want to get rid of their OEM NAV. If it weren't for the fact that the radio must be on "SAT" mode to use the (Dice/BlueFusion/iVic) bluetooth (caller ID, Contacts, etc), then the Dice/iVic/etc would be perfect.............. so, it is what it is. :cry2:

My only problem with the aftermarket HU route is the fact that I'd need to replace the back up camera with it. I'd rather be as "plug-N-Play" as I can be and not have to run wires the length of the truck. Oh, and the cost. I can do the MediaBridge for $110 on Amazon.

you dont have to run wires thru the truck, you can use the oem camera if you knew how to wire it up.

Pretty sure (99% sure) the iSimple and Bluefusion kits products have a "USB slot" on it's brainbox, so yes.

Just wanted to report back that I went with the iSimple ISTY651...received it yesterday and installed last night... it took 15 minutes to figure out the controls on my E7008 navi but so far its working great.

The iSimple does have Bluetooth built-in, but as you mentioned, I already have BT, so I chose to not use that function and simply did not connect the supplied microphone.
