Did anyone ever get an LED to work without hyperflashing?

Did anyone ever get an LED blinker to work properly in your truck?

I've tried the following:
  1. LED flasher http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-g...ocation-how-change-front-indicators-fogs.html . Needless to say, this didn't work.
  2. I just tried resistors and that doesn't work either.


If you got it it to work in your truck, please be very specific and detailed in your explanation (with pics or diagrams if possible) of how you got it to work.

I can't believe this is so hard to accomplish. What the heck am I doing wrong?

I see you already tried resistors, but out of curiosity though, did you try measuring what the resistance of your factory bulb is, and what the resistance is of resistor you're using? Maybe it's just a bit off?
 
I used these, specifically the 6 OHM 50W and they work as expected:

LED LOAD EQUALIZER RESISTORS TURN SIGNAL BLINKER FIX | 1 PAIR - Resistors

My application is just a little different. I modified my lights to use 1157 sockets to separate my DRL and blinkers and run LED switchbacks with white DRL and amber turns.

I think those resistors will still work fine for you. I have seen reports where people complain about them getting hot. If you connect them under the hood, there are lots of places you can use a self tapping sheet metal screw to mount them. Even if they heat up it won't hurt anything, plus being directly mounted to metal will help to act like a heat sink.

That said, mine don't heat up at all. I think it's because I separated the DRL from the turn signal, so the only time voltage flows through them is when the turn signal on that particular side is on. If you use the factory setup where DRL and turn signals share the same wire, I suspect the resistors will get pretty warm.
 
I have aftermarket led front turn on my Demello bumper but I used a resistor and it worked for me just one end on one wire and other end on the other I post a link to the resistor I used I gotta look it up
 
I did mine with the flasher relay. Let me know if u need one...I have an 06 4r

Hi, please elaborate a bit more on exactly what you did here to separate the DRL function of your turn signals from the blinker function. Are you saying you added a second bulb to your blinker light housing that is now your DRL and your blinkers are now only blinkers?
