Did factory trailer hitch include an "extension" wire

I have the factory hitch and have a flat 4 plug connector mounted under the frame. For some reason I thought the factory hitch also included and extension wire from the frame plug to whatever you are towing. However I sure can't find that extension. I know I can buy one but if there is supposed to be one I can also hunt some more in the garage. I am the only owner so if it came with one I should have it somewhere.

Are you looking for a male or female plug? Usually you plug the trailer into the vehicle and not the vehicle into the trailer.

The extension cord would have male on one end to connect into the plug on the frame and female on the other end for the trailer to plug into . All it does is extend the plug that is on the frame. I can buy one for ten bucks but I could swear I got one when I bought the 4Runner. I am probably wasting more time looking than going to store.
