Did I make a bad decision? V8 instead of V6

Even on cable/fiber; your IP will rotate around. It usually costs money to get a static IP.

But. I don't think that should be done. The person is question is an A-Hole, for sure, but how else do they learn than by us enforcing social norms. Banning this person forever, does nothing. Allowing him to come back creates an incentive for proper behavior.

How so? It's one person's opinion. Plain and simple. And they are entitled to it just like youre entitled to yours. Not allowing someone to voice theirs, that would be where the true "ignorance" is.

Add "...and if you don't think so you're ignorant" to the jeep line and multiply by a few thousand, and you've got a better comparison.

If you think that comment is the only reason he's banned then you aren't paying attention to these boards. It's somewhat unfortunate because sometimes he can give useful information. On the other hand he's been banned from here multiple times so he's not learning. BTW, if you search google for his previous username you'll see that there are plenty of other forums he's been banned from.

I have a 2005 SR5 4X4 V8 with 180K now. Engine is all stock just the 90K timing belt replaced. Believe me engine runs so smooth my wife would always ask me on a stop light if the engine stalled. I have a co-worker who has 2007 SR5V6 with 110K, his complain is the noisey and rough-running engine.He already took it to the dealer and they replaced the timing chain and still it runs rough. I think you'll be glad you have the V8.

You have the drivetrain that is the reason I bought this vehicle. No question you made the right choice, you can't it anywhere else, such as oh, the new 4runner! Damn Toyota.... V8, V8, V8, AWD w diff lock, real frame. No question you did it right.

I haven't found him to be insulting or vile. Blunt, direct, and a bit course, yes. But nothing to be banned for. Not everyone is all peaches and cream with the way they come across.

I'm about to go walking through NY Penn Station and then walk up through Times Square to work which I do twice a day everyday. Perhaps I'm more of a product of my environment - which I like, btw.

Hey all,
I just purchased my first 4runner and I'm picking it up on Friday. It's a SportsEdition SR5 with the V8 and I'm wondering if I made the right choice versus the V6. I know the obvious power difference between the two, but are there are cons towards the V8 and being 4WD all the time?

Welcome to the forum and 4Runner world.

You will be glad you have the V8 and all time 4 wheel drive, I love mine.

The forum has a lot of information on these vehicles- mods to do, technical stuff to watch out for and general stuff like "my rear defrost wont work" "because the rear window is not up all the way".

You can spend countless hours on this site and I have found it to be worth while.

Also check out the 4Runners big brother site- FJ Crusier forum. They share a lot in technology so you learn from both.
