Didn't make a mark on tripod, inboard and out board shaft

I am replacing my front driver side inner CV boot, but forgot make marks on tripod, inboard and outboard joint shafts. could i just put back in? would cause any damage? Thanks

I tried to put tripod into outboard joint shaft, i can put it in in any orientation, so why do we need marks on that.

here is the repair manual, on page two you can see that I need a mark on tripod and shaft, but i forgot.

In my experience it has more to do with the fact that all those components wear differently and/or some are balanced as assemblies. Meaning that by not marking it you may have installed a tripod onto a surface that was wearing differently than the orientation it was in originally; this could result in excessive slop, noise, premature wear, nothing at all, ect.

Its more for quality and/or keeping things together in the grooves/wear that it was in before than anything too significant as it doesn't need to be "timed."

I probably get wrong orientation when i put it in, but how do i know if i put inside (where direct to differential ) to out side(where direct to tire). i do find that grooves are different on each side, one side is to the end, one side is not.
anybody know which side is which? this tripod drive me crazy. Thanks.
