I've been stocking the forum for a while now and I've ran/seen a thread where they modified the oem battery base and replace with a longer J hook and modified the terminals and maybe change out the starter wire for a longer one like [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] did. I can't seem to find it right now though. I just wanted to get the battery now since it was a really good price. It doesn't look too complicated since I'm not going to run a dual setup.
On a side note I don't know if you remember but I had ask you about your dimpled slider few months ago. After a long wait for them, I finally got it installed recently. I'm really happy with them.

I looked into replacing all my alternator-battery wires with longer and heavier gauge ones, but that's not as straightforward as hoped. However, you can simply get terminal studs that screw onto the threaded posts on the Diehard Platinum 31M and then you don't have to modify the L-shaped connectors on the battery wires.

You also do not need a battery cage for the Group 31M (I ran it with the OEM battery tie-down for a while), but I would not recommend taking it off road like that. IT WILL TWIST/MOVE. you do not need to make any modifications to run the [MENTION=111262]pelfreybilt[/MENTION] battery cage and it's a very solid product.

Just bought the 31M online from sears, Its on sale for 231.99 which is $58 off reg price. In addition i used promo code AUT825 to get another $25 off to bottom line 206.99. Another good code is PAYPAL25 worth $25 off. Get them while you can had a hard time finding one for local pickup but I think they offer free shipping over 200. Good Luck:gun4:

I used the pelfreybilt battery cage (like [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION]) and just added stud to post convertors, zero issues no messing around. Grease um up, screw them on, tighten down terminals, perfect fit.

When would a deep cycle battery be needed? I'm sure for more than a 20" led bar and maybe a pair of 6"?

I have 2 X 6" Rigids on my main battery, I don't see that needing a deep cycle.

My reason for one would be for multiple accessories including a winch (eventually).

I will also be adding a winch like [MENTION=75328]DannyLlama[/MENTION] and also have added an always on power outlet for my fridge/freezer. Gotta keep the bruski cold!:cheers:

a 35D will fit, but last time I checked with Budbuilt, it will not fit a 31M. Aside from the tray dimensions, I don't think the width fits either due to the reservoir relocation closer to the engine.
