Bought a 4 runner that already had a 2.5" -3" lift on it, one side outer boot was going out when I got it and the other side outer went out shortly after as expected.
So not sure yet if there is a diff drop installed on the rig and have been reading the forums a bit and haven't seen any clear opinions on the long travel outer cv boots.
Do most people do a diff drop or longer boots or do both. I assume the drop is necessary to help with the angles, but do I really need to do both?
inner boots seem fine, but saw more thread about inner boot problems than there were about outer boots. Is there anything to address on inner, like longer travel boots or anything like that.
Plan on getting the cv's rebuilt at a driveline shop and want to get them done right the first time or was going to check into cost fo CVJ axles, does anyone know if there axles have long travel and better boots or are there stronger (affordable)shafts available out there
