Difference between 4th gen and 3rd gen front coil-overs.

I have yet to take any measurements but was just curious as to the differences between the two gens in regards to aftermarket coil-overs. I have a set of Walker Evans 2.0 w/remote res. off a 2005 Tacoma that just got a recent suspension change. If it weren't for 1 broken coil I'd plug them in and see if huge differences existed. Like I said I'm just curious, other than valving, the mounts look similar (upper and lower). The only noticeable difference if the CO's mount slightly inboard where other 3rd gen CO's sit centered ( that could be fixed through a different upper shock plate mount).

I believe the 4th gen shocks are longer. A LOT longer.

That’s not always a bad thing, I'm not looking for a huge amount of lift. I was thinking dialing them down to their 0 mark which is 2.5" of lift on the correct vehicle (4th Gen 4Runner, 2nd Gen Taco, FJ). I'm going to have to get a side by side and take some measurements this weekend.

4th gen/ FJ shocks will not work on a 3rd gen.
