Can anyone tell me what is different between these 3 years? I can see the slight style change between 13 and 14 limited additions and believe the 14 had ac seats added, maybe memory seats too? What else is different and what about the newer 15s vs the 14

Thank you.

Rdfish1 You could take a look at the 4Runner product brochures. The '14 has a significant number of interior and exterior trim changes, and also some minor functional changes such as the heated/cooled leather seating on the '14 LE. In my opinion, the instrumentation is much improved in the '14, but that's still a minor issue with respect to the overall vehicle. Not many additional changes for the '15.

All three years are part of the "5th Generation" of 4Runners. The '14 is considered the first year of the "mid-generation product refresh." Toyota routinely does a mid-generation refresh on its product lines. Now that the '14 is here, the next great set of changes will probably be the 6th Generation 4Runner.

'14 and newer have: a new front end, gauge cluster changes and light effects are now blue. Memory seats. Cooled seats. LED tails. The wheels have a slightly different colour tone but otherwise appear to be the exact same. I believe the redwood interior is also new to the '14's.

From what I undersand there are no mechanical changes. It's mostly cosmetic aside from the couple of extra creature comforts.

Very helpful thank you. I should have considered the brochures. It appears they don't come with any of the newer safety technology like accident avoidance, lane or collision protection or the mirrors that tell you someone is in your blind-spot. Correct?

When is the 6 th gen out?

If you want more safety tech, you need to look at the Toyota Highlander or the Camry. Or a Lexus SUV.

Many people expect a 6th gen 4Runner to arrive for 2017. However, nothing is certain until Toyota announces it, and they are very good about keeping information about their future models secret. You will find plenty of information on the web right now about '16 and '17 models, but it's all baloney. Ignore it.
