I am going to get a new intake and was wondering why the intake for a 98 t4r is different from a 99. I can tell the difference between 4cyl and 6cyl ones (since the 6cyl ones have connectors for tubes) but the tubing for the 99-03 and the 96-98s looks faily similar. they both have a hole in the side (i think that would connect to the silencer/resonator). One difference i see is the location of the connectors for the tubes (and i see the intakes for the 99+ have 3 whereas 96-98 have 2).
Essentially, I am going to buy one of the cheap intakes off ebay and i find a lot more for the 99+, not to mention i find some that come with heat shields. Would i be able to put a 99+ intake on my 98 3.4L v6? I really don't like how i fall into the 96-98 category, its so much harder to find accessories and info on them than the 99+ and was wondering what the compatability was.
On the compatability note...is there anything from the 99+s that would fit on a 98? (i.e. could i swap my headlights/taillights for the multireflective 99+ ones? i know burtman sells 99+ styles for the 98s but I was wondering if i could simply take stuff off a 99+and put it on my 98.)
That's about it for now. I did the throttle cable tightening trick yesterday (much better, feels like i have the ECT on when i dont and definately feel better acceleration, especially at higher speeds and rpms) Just looking for a few other ways to improve my t4r. thanks guys.
